Something of a vision for us: There are stores in the metro Richmond, Va., area that are fixtures. They are part of what makes up the character of the region. I believe that the reason they are such a strong part of the scene is that above and beyond the expected great service, great prices and great product mix is a sense of personality about the organization that resonates with its customers. Not everybody shops at Ukrops or appreciates their style of supermarket. Enough do that the chain thrives in the face of stiff competition from big box stores. Ditto Pleasants Hardware, Rising Son Computers out on Williamsburg Road and the Richmond Computer Guy.
So, I want to be a place where guys like me that have a hobby of tinkering with computers can come find the parts they need and their family can come find great buys on brand name technology. I want it to be a friendly place where can sit on our couches and use our wireless while enjoying an espresso drink, shop, or just chat with us or friends. The part of the personality of the South that I appreciate is how valuable community and relationships seem to be. It is reflected in the way businesses like Pleasants Hardware do business. Dyme Tech will work hard at fostering a community among its customers, vendors and employees. That is what will give us our niche and set us apart from Best Buy or Circuit City.
At the moment we have no store, bricks or clicks. Buying from us means contacting Alan and having him order it for you. It is how we started and for now, how we will continue to operate. We still hope to have a store you can visit. Keep in touch. |
